Great news and a sincere “thank you”
Hello
Wiltshire has its first Liberal Democrat MP for 80 years!
Duncan Hames and his team won the new Chippenham seat. I’m delighted that we played our part in that historic victory!
I’m only sorry I’m not joining him in the new Parliament to represent North Wiltshire. But I’m very grateful to all 17,631 people who voted [...]
I live near Cricklade having moved to Wiltshire in 1988 to start my career. Originally from South London, I attended the University of York, where I joined the Liberal Party and graduated in Economics and Statistics. In 1994, I began working for Nationwide Building Society, where I am now a senior marketing manager. In the 1997 and 2005 general elections, I contested the North Swindon constituency for the Liberal Democrats gaining nearly 7,000 votes on both occasions and increasing the Party's vote by 3.6% last time. In January 2007, I was chosen to fight the new North Wiltshire constituency by local Party members.
